Life has made huge shift in the past few months of course on various factors. I was interested in travel earlier but my travel these days has been just crazy with lots of boggling ideas still pouring only hoping at this point I get to implement all of them. Last weekend is just one of them. It all started at the near end of the long weekend when only we realize to ‘viel Spaß‘ after spending lot of time in casino, sleeping or eating Hyderabadi-Dum-Biryani.
So we headed out of our stinking room, felt Philly sun and breathe some fresh air to bring us back to senses. America is really a country of freedom, only because we can speak all guy stuff right in the middle of parking lot in our own language not really minding about others. Never mind, I have to take it back, last night I installed మnam app and there are atleast 25 people surrounding me and atleast three of them had mutual friends in fb. America is really a land of immigrants. Proud of it 👍
Khaaaahaa-um-zoom-zoom started my Mazda(it needs 20k mile service soon) and we headed out. Road-not-taken again only to add fun as always. Last few miles of 263 North ➡️ to New Jersey from Philadelphia you will find great views of Delaware river and not to mention you will spot lot of deer jumping across the roads and beautiful country side farms and great mansions which only end when you arrive Stockton a small town with warm and vibrant appeal. We took couple of monsters in Stockton food store and headed to bridge for a quick stop over where we are lucky to find a one-of-a-kind red huge fish but felt bad for an old guy on the other side for having a hard time 🎣 as he stretched himself thrice in the last five minutes. Evening Sun is just perfect for the lovely couple marrying in Centre Bridge Inn and we can hear celebrations with cool breeze across Delaware river racing down the mountainside. I almost forgot; one can try Via Ponte restaurant – Chefs special Mediterranean 🐟 pretty famous for his own style.
Friends conversations are just hilarious carrying from Indian villages to American politics in no time, the next thing I realize we are on Verrazano bridge already. It’s a beautiful bridge, traffic is unusual today with heavy sirens all around, traffic bumper to bumper and this is perfect time to grab beautiful pictures of NYC skyline with stunning full moon from sunroof.
Cops frequently passing by and car behind us high beaming rapidly for obvious NYC reasons, I only managed to capture part of my imagination and all my work halted when we spotted a disturbing search in a car surrounded by several cops which we understood later that morning, is related to 9/18 attacks. Kudos to US officials for the amazing quick breakout. Not a person with knowledge to comment on any of the attacks but as a human, I only believe in ‘live and let live’ and hoping for a world full of peace soon and I shouldn’t be afraid to travel any place. Selfish me.
After quite a hangover, it’s time to recover and hit Washington D.C. Home-made biryani and on the roads again. What a pleasant journey it is. Ravishing Delaware bridge. American roads are worth a praise. Who would really think, one can cover 230 mi in 3 hours. Windows down. Speakers up. 💯 mph. Near fall climate just makes me drive for miles and miles and I know why I love driving so much 💭
Quick stop at Ronald Reagan. Hi White House. Oh you there Capitol building , shall I visit The Pentagon, Ah did I enter lovers state too Anddd before my engine grrrr on me, fuel my car and myself with a delicious sandwich at SUNdeVICH before I head back. Worth a try.
Next thing Garden State offered me much needed bath. Hop on friends and headed to the edge of Pennsylvania. Alaska is sure largest state but do we have to really travel 6 hours to reach Pittsburgh. Thats pretty long man to travel within a state after a long ride already. Of course I will know better when I travel Alaska or Texas. All the tiredness fly away when driving in amazing fog filled PA roads. I certainly miss my GoPro. PA roads are very unique, beautifully laid on mountains with tunnels, long trees 🌲 and their unique style.
Welcome Pittsburgh. First stop. Sri Venkateswara Temple in Penn Hills. It’s always a pleasure to visit temple and it definitely brings a charm. What’s much better in Pittsburgh temple. Prasadam. Yes it is. Where else we can get such outstanding aroma of tamarind rice aka Pulihora. It sure is mouth-watering even now. After three packets of rice, ya you can believe, explore the old city and it’s beautiful church. Pittsburgh is sure special. It’s an old city and junction of three rivers, you can imagine the elegance of its bridges. They sure are worth experiencing. Move on. Halt at airport and its time I start missing my Netflix at home.
Best way to end long journey obviously best food in best restaurant in our own style. Godavari in Edison,NJ is definitely a great Indian restaurant and I can say best South Indian and place for spicy food. Their lunch buffet is very famous with so many items that you will miss your diet schedule in huge way but worth a try😉 but how about bring the best from best chef with our cravings out of menu. Tomato Dal , ghee, gongura pickle and chilli chicken fry and end it with an ice cream. Can world just stop here plz. It reminds me of good old college days.
6 states in 24 hours. Why did I roam so much? How else I get to experience fresh breeze in afternoon and fog filled roads on first day of the fall. Travel is an addiction. Just travel and nothing else. Climax of the show. 18 hour sleep before I am ready for anything else.
Stay tuned for bigger bonanza..
